And so we leapt
When we first visited Font de l'Oca, we didn't know what to expect, but as we stepped through the gate it captured us with its magical charm; the bird song and views over the valley helped us breathe more deeply and left our shoulders relaxed. As we explored we were inspired and although we weren't ready for such a big life change, the building and land convinced us not to let the opportunity go. And so we leapt.
We're Lena and Jose. We made Font de l'Oca our business and family home in 2026 when we exchanged big city life for something slower and more connected to nature, family, and a different pace of life. Our backgrounds meant this decision was not an obvious choice (Lena is a psychologist, Jose is a producer), and so we're learning as we go. We don't get everything right and things may not be perfect but know that we consider every aspect intentionally with the hope that we are creating something meaningful. If you have ideas or feedback, we're always open to learning and evolving.
What we do know is that Font de l'Oca is an off-the-beaten-path sanctuary. Words don't do it justice; it is a place that needs to be experienced. We invite you to join us and hope you find what you are looking for.

Values that guide everything we do
From the beginning, we wanted this project to align with a clear sense of purpose, with all aspects intentionally connected. We distilled that purpose into values that run through everything we do. Where that thread is less clear, it is because we are fallible or because running a business sometimes limits what we can do, though we always strive to reconnect to that sense of purpose. We welcome advice and feedback to help shape the project and hold us accountable.
Family run
Font de l'Oca is a family-run project. We live here, work here, and are involved in daily business. Hospitality is not performative but relational. It is offered with sincerity. We welcome guests not just as customers, but as part of something shared.
Personalised, expert-led care
Our aim is for you to feel nourished and recharged so your batteries (and heart) are full. We care about the details, through expert-led retreats, well-resourced materials, nourishing meals, and restful spaces, we meet people where they are, whether for healing, exploration, play, silence, food, detoxing, or rest. During your stay, you will access resources developed by knowledgeable professionals in a safe, nurturing environment.
Explore, experience and play
Play is an antidote to anxiety and tension. While life is complex, we honour the healing qualities of curiosity. This might mean learning something new, attending a retreat, or simply enjoying spaces designed for exploration and play.
Stillness and slowing down
Slowing down is a way of life here. We honour balance, between stillness and activity, self and other, rest and movement, while grounding in the present moment. From food grown with care to deep, undisturbed sleep, this is an invitation to live slowly and wholly, offering a different rhythm in a fast-moving world.
Healing nature and stewardship
Connection with nature can increase serotonin, lower stress, and strengthen immunity. Surrounded by protected land and natural spring water, we honour the land as a central feature. We prioritise natural materials and encourage outdoor living. As a 19th-century building, we respect its history while giving it new purpose. Sustainability is a daily practice of custodianship and respect. We aim to act, not just speak, and invite guests to help reduce impact and contribute ideas.
Balance of community and solitude
We believe in human connection, while also valuing self-reflection and solitude. We offer opportunities for both; you choose what you need, supported by diverse spaces.
Choice, change and transformation
We offer opportunities to explore, learn, and grow, but it is always your choice. In this way, we hope to inspire transformation at your own pace.
Holistic mind–body connection
We recognise the importance of caring for both mind and body. We offer opportunities for holistic connection during your stay, while inviting reflection on changes that can continue at home.
Something is taking shape here
We are doing this carefully. The buildings are being restored by hand. The land is slowly becoming itself again. We are learning what this place wants to be — and we are doing it with full attention.
If you are a facilitator looking for somewhere that will do justice to your programme, we would love to meet you. If you have been looking for a place like this to exist, we are glad you found us.
